Blackthorn's Oda x Sumo vom Dewhaus, Sch2, PDC (OFA) born April 23, 2014 5 females, 4 males (all sold) This breeding combination brings together some of the top DDR (Oda) and Czech (Sumo) working bloodlines. Sumo (pedigree) is expected to get his Sch3 title this spring and then will move on to titling in PSA. He is a dog who can do serious "for real" bitework yet socialize easily with new people, new dogs, and hang out on the sofa in the evening. He has extreme hunt drive and ball drive and has produced several puppies working in detection/SAR. Physically, he is compact and athletic--a very correct medium-sized dog with extremely rich black sable coloring and a strong, blocky head.
This
combination with Oda should produce beautifully structured, medium-sized
dogs with rich pigment (blacks and rich sables) with with plenty of
drive to do just about any job but steady, confident minds. I
expect pack/family oriented dogs with clear temperaments and exceptionally
good judgment and adaptability--but these pups are also likely to have
a serious side with strong guarding instincts.

OFA Good Hips/Elbows, DM clear/clear 100% DDR bloodlines A daughter of our imported Xita, out of a male in Germany, Oda is linebred on some of the great DDR producers of the last 20+ years. Her entire litter that has demonstrated its sound nerves, excellent self-confidence, and great willingness to work with the handler with their versatility -- from herding to mobility service dog to therapy dog to competition obedience, as well as family companions with a natural love of children. In addition to overall good health and strong genetics for good hips and elbows from a litter strong in its hip production, Oda brings very correct and sound conformation, solid bone, and gorgeous head and expression as well as moderate drive, high trainability, and excellent natural instincts. She is currently actively training in herding and will be working toward further titles in herding. She is a correct medium-size, about 65 pounds. |
